"bamboo energy" at Centro Médico Teknon (Barcelona)

14th september - 13th december in colaboration with the "Ars et Scientia" program.

The word energy comes from the greek "energeia/energos" and refers to the capacity of change or movement. At western culture "energy" regards to physical and chemical phenomena, however, at oriental culture refers to the forces that fill the universe in order to permeate, sustain and change life of all beings. It is conceived as opposite and complementary forces (positive-negative, light and dark, sound-silence, male-female ...) which must be in balance to achieve harmony, synonymous of health, well-being, virtue and perfection. In the East, bamboo symbolises the balance of energies and represents virtues as patience, vitality, fairness, tolerance and perseverance. Its growth is a metaphor of harmonious personal development.

Lo’s proposal arises from the physical, sensory and spiritual virtues of bamboo. He works from the infinite possibilities that bamboo shows to him, setting us the essential issue about harmony, balance of bipolar tensions: flexibility and resistance, movement and stillness, light and shadow, full and empty, masculinity and femininity...

"bamboo energy" bids you to reflect, seeking for balance, through the energy of bamboo.

During the exhibition, there will be lectures focus on the connection about the space, energy and health at medical environments (dates to be confirmed)
